The main concept behind Sky is to entertain
people. There have already been 17 million viewers recorded in
8 million households across the UK area. They have all tuned
into the most world-renowned entertainment. There are close to
500 channels that offer everything from movies to news, and
sitcoms to sports. There are also interactive services that
allow customers to send emails, vote in polls, play games and
manage finances. This can all be done from their TV.
With a turnover of more than £4,000 million
per year, the future of Sky foresees a profitable growth plan.
There are already 14,000+ people who work at locations from
London to Scotland. There are always employment opportunities
present at Sky and they need a growing team to be profitable
for the future.
The basis behind Sky is to be completely
tuned-in to their customers, as well as the people and the
society that we all live in. They are very inviting in the way
that they hire people so that they can help engage customers as
well. All of the employees at Sky are motivated, driven, and
simply excited about what is to come with TV.
Applying for Sky is very simple and can be
done from the comforts of your own home via their website.
After they review your application, they will let you know if
you have made it to the next stage. Depending on the interest
shown, this could involve multiple interviews and access to the
Sky Assessment Centre. A regular session in the Assessment
Centre involves around three or four hours of time. A session
might consist of a competency interview, a group exercise,
analytical work, and psychometric or psychological tests. While
this seems a bit intimidating, it is simply Sky’s way of
assessing you and there are usually no right or wrong
answers.
If you become a part of the team at Sky you
will receive amazing benefits that include:
Free Sky- This means that you will receive a
free subscription to Sky TV. You can pause and rewind TV that
is on live or record one programme while you are watching
another.
Holidays- You are entitled to 25 days of
holiday pay plus bank holidays. You will also get one day
prorata per year, which is up to a maximum of five additional
days.
Pension- While this might be far from your
mind, if you are eligible for the plan, you will be
contributing up to 4% of your salary and then Sky will add an
additional 8% to that. If you join the plan you will also be
eligible for advanced life insurance benefits that equal a lump
sum that is worth up to four times your overall salary.
Sharesave- As with most large companies, you
have the choice to buy shares. With share save, you can use
your savings as a tax-free bonus to buy shares in Sky at a very
low price.
There are many more benefits but they are
listed in the Sky Benefits Extra book. In addition, you will
receive discounts via email and two of the staff magazines.
There are a variety of jobs listed on the website right now,
many of which include a customer experience manager, an HR team
leader, a reconciliation clerk, and much more.
